Hello we are a very quiet, non-public kind of family. We are asking for your help to raise funds for us to host an orphan from Eastern Europe for Christmas and also towards her adoption expenses. Let us tell you why this girl is so special to us that we would reach out to family and perfect strangers. We traveled to Eastern Europe in spring 2014 in hoping of adopting a teenage boy. The adoption didn’t go through, but we met a (then) 12-year-old girl “Dee” while visiting orphanages. There was something very special about “Dee” and we knew it the moment we met her. “Dee” has only one eye, but that’s not what makes her different. She is a very quiet, sweet girl, who loves art and is creative. We were instantly in love with “Dee” when we met her and hoped to adopt her. Due to circumstances beyond our control, we had to return to the U.S. without “Dee”. Soon thereafter, “Dee’s” orphanage was taken over in a war by separatists. “Dee” had to be moved to another orphanage and it took months for us to find her again. At the end of 2014, we were able to find “Dee” through some friends. We started sending her letters and care packages. We wanted to get to know her better. By this time our adoption paperwork for Eastern Europe had expired. “Dee” is now located at an orphanage very close to the war zone. “Dee” is now writing to us nearly every day over the internet and talking to us on the phone once a week or so through an interpreter. We would like to bring her to the U.S. to visit on Christmas break through the orphan hosting program and move forward with redoing our adoption paperwork. We are asking that you please prayerfully consider contributing towards these two events. We have already updated our home study and have approval from U.S. immigration to adopt. Thank you for coming alongside of us during this process.
