Hello Family, Friends, and Supporters of a Grand Cause!
I am extremely blessed to share with you all that I will be traveling to Nairobi, Kenya for the Summer of 2013 to serve as a fellow for Lively Hoods! Chronic unemployment in Kenya leaves approximately 68% of youth without a stable income. Throughout urban slums, young men and women struggle to find a source of income as some resort to selling their bodies, robbing their neighbors, or are recruited by Al-Shabbab to launch grenades into neighborhood markets. The problem is worsening quickly as the slum population is expected to double by 2030. We are losing an entire generation of productive young talent that would otherwise be looked to, to usher in a new class of leadership in East Africa. LivelyHoods is a registered 501(c)(3) that refuses to stand idly by and let the talents and ideas of this generation go to waste.
LivelyHoods is building a world where ambitious, talented and creative youth have the chance to earn an honest living, achieve their potential, and contribute to the economic development of their communities. I am extremely passionate about this endeavor and hope that you can be a part of my journey.
I thank you for taking time out to help me explore a piece of my life's passion.
Peace & Love to you all
