Adventure Angels Abundance Scholarship

Over a quarter of the way there!
February 16, 2017
In the spirit of women helping empower other women in business, the Adventure Angels, a group of women working together within the adventure travel industry, decided to set up a scholarship to support a woman from a developing country working in sustainable adventure tourism to be able to participate in the educational and business-growing Adventure Travel World Summit (ATWS). She had to be in business at least one year and her work had to support her community. In 2016, in Anchorage, Alaska, we were thrilled and proud to jointly award with the Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA) the first-ever Adventure Angels Abundance Scholarship to Noelia Corrales, owner of the Colibri Spanish School in Matagalpa, Nicaragua.
The president of the ATTA, Shannon Stowell, recently called for "making meaningful strides towards acknowledging the power of women in travel and taking away barriers for success.” We'd like to charge towards that goal by supporting another Adventure Angels Abundance Scholarship for the ATWS 2017 to be held in Salta, Argentina, under similar terms, thus supporting another woman from a developing country to have the resources needed to attend the summit. We need your help in raising the funds to pay for her travel expenses. We in the USA don't always understand the strong impact tourism has in developing countries. Tourism often means financial independence for women, a better life for her family, and a better economy for her community. Help us to improve the life of a community in a developing country.
Your small donations will collectively give this scholarship wings!
We thank you.
