Adventure Based Rehab
Organized by: Carol-Ann Nelson
DESTINATION REHAB is a 501(c)3 nonprofit in Bend, Oregon. Our mission is to provide rehab-based training while taking our participants into the community and onto the trails to practice specific skills. The goal is increased confidence and independence for our participants, leading to greater community involvement in their daily lives.
FUNDING is challenging for a start-up organization. We are dedicated this summer to launching a series of pro-bono events to benefit individuals throughout Oregon, and your support is crucial to making this possible!
WHAT YOUR CONTRIBUTION WILL SUPPORT:
$25 - Farmer's market outing where we will practice navigating in a crowd, walking while holding a basket, multitasking, reaching for items and balance skills.
$50 - An afternoon of stand up paddle board activities, allowing participants to enjoy the river while improving their core strength, balance, trunk rotation and arm strength.
$100 - Painting class instructor and supplies. Participants will work on range of motion, posture, fine motor skills and coordination.
$250 - Cooking class and dinner with a Bend chef, featuring locally sourced ingredients. We will emphasize standing balance, posture, meal preparation and energy conservation strategies.
$500 - Full day trip to Oregon's amazing Crater Lake with a range of activites such as: hiking, fishing, boat tours and museums.
