AdvoCats was started as a way to let feral cats live out their natural lives rather than euthanasia. It is an volunteer group with volunteer vets who trap, neuter and release the cats back into their home territory. Some of the volunteers take care of colony management with the feeding and monitoring the colonies. All food or vet needs are paid for by the colony caretaker. There are about 5 cats for every person on the Island. Since the advent of AdvoCats we have been able to spay/neuter over 9500 cats. One of our major problems is 2 sanctuaries to house special needs, abandoned and hard to place cats. We have the property to build but need help with making a safe place with fencing, feeding stations and shelter for the cats.
