A family with no home; a single parent with no car
Organized by: Guy Goodine
The most pressing case is a local family of six that was left homeless after wildfires swept through their area. They are currently living in a pop-up camper with no utilities and only the barest of necessities. They had no insurance and, although the father is employed, they've not been able to finance a new place to live.
And a young, single mother has been the victim of two car accidents in 12 months; both of them the fault of the other drivers. In both cases her cars were totaled but they were used cars and she didn't collect enough from either of them to afford good transportation. For the past several months, family and friends have been rotating loaning her a car while insurance companies in both cases have been stringing her along, arguing over what part of her medical expenses should be reimbursed, etc.
I'd like to help both of these families get back on their feet and while neighbors have been doing what we can, I decided to reach out in this way to see if we can get some help. My apologies for not providing more information but I'm trying to keep this request from embarrassing the recipients. I've been helping them and they would recognize their stories if I posted it on my Facebook account. Hope you understand.
