THE STORY:

We ordered a trailer- paided the 50% deposit and found out the company went out of business.  We have lost the $ but still are in NEED of the Trailer. (photos of Mike repairing our homemade trailer- which we have been working on this weekend to have it ready for camp tomorrow am)

Last week we found out that the company we hired and paid $ to build a trailer I out of business. And posted this on facebook --- I'm more than a bit upset and at a loss of what to do know--- the money we used came from a grant awarded to AFLOC, the trailer is desperately needed and now we have no idea who to call and if we will ever recover the $1500 - not a great way to start the day We even went over and met face to face with the Sales Manager- looked them up before we gave them our $--- feeling taken advantage of..... so mad...... going to go to camp and put on my happy face for the kiddos-- not much I can do now-- going to call the police and file a report after camp-------- (Camp Photos include camping with our Junior Guides, finding a baby rat snake on camp island, friends discovering new fish, and more...)

Our organization is growing, we were awarded a grant to expand our summer programs that included buying a NEW enclosed trailer, 20 feel long by 7 feet wide.

We have found another company that can build one for us for just under $4000 (it's the orange one in the photos) - we budgeted for $2900.

It has been a week and a half- reports files, calls made and we have been told that we will most likely never see the $ again. Most of you suggested a fundraising campaign so here it is. We NEED a safe way to transport our gear to get the kids outdoors.

They are connecting with nature. We are seeing a great response in the kids, they are seeing manatee, dolphin, sea horses, crabs and fish and birds. We have taken them to the St Sebastian Preserve State Park and the Sebastian Inlet State Park. Some of the wildlife we have seen this season include: Manatee Dolphin Baby Barracuda Baby Puffer fish Pipe Fish Pigmy Sea Horses Swallow Tail Kites and so much more.... We teach Leave No Trace and they kids have written letters after finding "our island" trashed with broken glass, beer bottles, etc... The kids write "fishermen are irresponsible, leaving all this trash makes me sad and can make fish sick." "It is disrespectful for people to leave all this trash for others to pick up. they should think more about nature."
