16 rounds of chemotherapy, 3 surgeries, radiation, scans, physical therapy, and countless needles. I am often asked "how did you get through it?" But what many people don't realize is that the hardest part begins when treatment ends. Now, three years after diagnosis, I'm cancer free but still working to get back on track. A Fresh Chapter India Odyssey Program is an opportunity to jump start the rest of my recovery - a chance to step out of my comfort zone, challenge myself, and give back to others in need while working alongside other survivors.
Forget bucket lists. This will not be my personal Eat, Pray, Love journey. A Fresh Chapter is a very real opportunity to spend two weeks volunteering at Mother Teresa's Home for the Dying & the Destitute, teaching English to children in Delhi's most depressed areas, and acting as a cancer ambassador with CanSupport in local communities where cancer is heavily stigmatized. My goal is to be reinvigorated, to be inspired by helping others who are less fortunate and connecting with fellow survivors in an environment far away from home. In order for me to participate in this special program, I ask that you help by making a tax-deductible donation. Thank you for your support!
Audacious and hopeful, A Fresh Chapter’s mission is to heal the emotional scars of cancer through volunteering and meaningful travel. A Fresh Chapter (Alliance Foundation) is a Project in affiliation with Social and Environmental Entrepreneurs (SEE) a non profit public charity exempt from federal income tax under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Donations will be used to cover program related costs and all US Donations of $100+ are eligible for a tax receipt.
