Last year I posted on my Facebook page that I’ve always wanted to go on a missionary trip to help those in another country. I will get that chance in March 2016 where I will be going to India with A Fresh Chapter to continue to heal myself and also passing on that healing to the world.
Audacious and hopeful, A Fresh Chapter’s mission is to heal the emotional scars of cancer through volunteering and meaningful travel. In March 2016, I will join other people impacted by cancer for a two-week volunteer program in India. Whether spending time with disabled women at Mother Teresa's, working with kids at an underfunded daycare in one of Delhi's slums, or helping underserved youth through a career empowerment program, I will build new connections, gain perspective, and step beyond my story of cancer to help create a ripple of good in the world.
I was diagnosed with Stage IV cancer but Stage IV cancer has never dictated the way I live my life. Since I’ve been diagnosed I dove in head first with all the opportunities that have been presented to me helping other survivors. I think this will be my wellness and rejuvenation trip to help me recharge my life and recharge my soul. Helping other breast cancer survivors is my life’s mission but I know sometimes I need to take down time for myself. I know that if I don’t rejuvenate my soul there’s no way I could help others. I want to go to India so that I can experience the humanity and remember my own humanity. Any donation helps and is tax deductible in the USA. Thank you for your helping me with my fresh chapter.
A Fresh Chapter (Alliance Foundation) is a Project in affiliation with Social and Environmental Entrepreneurs (SEE) a non profit public charity exempt from federal income tax under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
