BENEFITING: LEON HOWARD SULLIVAN FOUNDATION
HOURS PLEDGED: 347
This is the official donation site of the Afripolitan Clubs.
Afripolitan Club members use what they have to drive the youth movement in carrying on Reverend Leon H. Sullivan’s work of promoting self-help, entrepreneurship, and empowerment in Africa.
This is done through awareness initiatives and direct fundraising for African entrepreneurs who are working to help themselves.
AFRIPOLITAN CLUB COMMITMENT
We vow to never settle for less than the best for ourselves, Africa, or her Diaspora.
To be compassionate, respectful, and adamant in our efforts,
To be interested in humanitarian rather than financial dividends,
And, to not be held back by what others consider impossible.
We know that Africa is neither helpless nor hopeless.
And, we know that Africa is worth the investment.
So, we choose to do something, every day, to show the world just that.
“What you do is what you are; do nothing and you are nothing; do little and be little. It is a fact of life, merciless and inescapable.”
–Reverend Leon H. Sullivan.
Cultural Exchange Benefits for Students as they Empower African Entrepreneurs
- Current and former Miss Africa USA Pageant Delegates are launching Afripolitan Clubs at American high schools near them.
- Those schools will be paired with entrepreneurs and small business owners located in the Delegates' specific home countries.
- This direct connection to the Pageant Delegates' native countries will be of great value to the students.
- The delegates will personally share their cultures with the students and help facilitate communication between the students and their African entrepreneurs.
By the way, what is an Afripolitan?
Afripolitans are people who recognize the importance and value of the self-help principles as they relate to the advancement of the Continent of Africa.
Afripolitans are committed to ensuring that the misstatementsof African history and Africa’s nations and people today, as reported by the global media and mainstream textbooks, willno longer be blankly accepted.
Afripolitans are committed to ensuring that the Continent becomes a laboratory for learning and development, expansion and advancement.
Afripolitans recognize that as a unified voice, we can inspire change and influence policy by offering our time, talents, and treasures to this nu-Africa “Afripolitan Movement,” which is not restricted by color, age, gender, or origin.
