In ASAS, we want all our students to have the same opportunities we would want to give our own children: To be safe and healthy, to graduate high school and college, to find a career they love and to give back to their community. Why After-School All-Stars? ASAS programming consists of innovative and creative programs that keep kids safe and active and prepare them for high school and college. We have data to show positive impact on student attendance, behavior, grades and test scores. Effective and Efficient: By being part of a national network of chapters we are able to share best practices, training avoid reinventing the wheel. Since our programs take place in schools, we are not a drop in program nor do we have any facility or transportation costs. Newark spends roughly $23,000 per student annually. ASAS costs roughly $1,000 per student per year. That equates to 50% more time (3 hours + 6 hour school day) for less than 5% of the cost. New York spends roughly $18,000 per student annually. ASAS costs roughly $1,000 per student per year. That equates to 50% more time (3 hours + 6 hour school day) for less than 6% of the cost. We spend 86 cents of every dollar on programming and Charity Navigator named ASAS a 4 Star Charity, their highest rating. We hope you can support us in any way you can.
