By 6th grade, kids born into poverty are likely to suffer a 6,000-hour learning gap compared with their middle-class peers. TASC helps to close this gap by expanding the school day, partnering schools and community organizations, and enhancing the quality of learning.
By adding 2.5 hours to every school day, kids get the equivalent of 72 more days in the school year. In building bridges between schools and the community, we bring additional talent and role models into the classroom. And through balancing core curriculum with the arts, movement and hands-on, personalized learning, we develop the whole child, with equal emphasis on academics and social/emotional learning. TASC's mission is to help kids in low-income communities discover their talents, develop their full potential, and achieve success in the 21st-century marketplace.
