BENEFITING: AGAPE CHRISTIAN ACADEMY OF ASHEBORO
Founded 7 years ago as a 1 room, K-2 school, with a hands-on, personalized approach to learning, Agape Christian Academy has fulfilled the need for a non-denominational Christian school that serves Randolph County, NC. As you can imagine, we quickly outgrew that 1 room schoolhouse and were lucky enough to borrow Sunday School classrooms from a local Friends Church while we hunted for a permanent campus for Agape. We found that property and, with the support of school families, we were able to make the down payment and begin classes on campus in Fall of 2009 as a K-5 school. Agape continues each year to meet its goal when it comes to the children's education as demonstrated by the students' test scores. At the end of the school year, every student is tested using a nationally recognized standardized test and every year the students’ performance on these tests puts the school nationally in the top 1%.
While the enrollment fees and tuition cover the day to day operational costs, mortgages from the purchase and initial construction, expansion, and required public-water treatment facility have challenged the finances, even after cutting the budget down to the bare bones. The 2014 Agape Christian Academy Capital Campaign was implemented to help reduce the debt incurred by those outstanding mortgage loans so that we can focus our time and resources on the things that matter most: the children and their education--both academically and in Christ.
With your support, Agape will continue to grow and flourish in the education of the children who attend, the community and worldwide outreach programs the students participate in, and the spreading of Christ's word. Every little bit helps and is most appreciated!
