Celebrate Better Hearing and Speech Month
Help Children Hear the World!
The birth of your child can be the happiest day of your life. But what if you learn your precious new baby has a hearing loss? Where do you look for information?
The Search for Resources
Parents embark on an unexpected journey and search for resources. Meredith’s son Jonah was fitted with hearing aids at 1 month of age, but they weren’t enough. In Meredith’s frantic search for information, she found AG Bell. Through AG Bell she received the critical information she needed for her family and Jonah received bilateral cochlear implants a few months later.
Lifelong Resources and Support
Today, Jonah is mainstreamed in a local elementary school. He talks from morning till night and doesn’t miss a beat when his brothers yell to him across an athletic field! He loves singing and dancing to music and hearing his kitten purr. Meredith recently shared that through AG Bell she has met other families and professionals who are now lifetime friends and supporters to her family and that AG Bell “has played a huge part in our journey and in my son’s success.”
When you donate to AG Bell, you are helping a child listen and talk. You are helping families connect to a lifeline of resources. Your funds give families access to information that will guide them through every age and stage of hearing loss, connect them with professionals — and most importantly, with other families like themselves.
