By completing all four years of high school, AGE Africa scholars are growing up to be educated and confident young women with the power to make healthy life choices. In a country with a 50% child marriage rate, 91% of AGE Africa scholars are delaying marriage and pregnancy past the age of eighteen! In the future, these young women will be equipped with the knowledge and skills they need to ensure the health and safety of their families. In fact, they will be more than twice as likely to send their children to school, compared to mothers with no education — breaking the cycle of poverty for generations to come!
Join us in celebrating our baby's birth by making a difference in the lives of talented but disadvantaged girls living in rural Malawi. With every contribution, we hope to build a world where more children receive the education they deserve. In turn, these children will get the tools and resources they need to self-advocate for their own healthy life choices, delay early marriage and pregnancy, and become leaders in their own communities. Delaying early pregnancy allows girls to stay in school and leverage their education into viable opportunities for earned income. It also decreases the risk for disease and contributes to healthy family planning.
