AGE Africa’s mission is to provide life-changing opportunities to young women in Malawi through targeted initiatives in education, mentoring, and leadership development. In Malawi, the educational gender gap is particularly large. Although less than 7% of women have graduated high school nationwide, nearly 90% of AGE scholars complete all four years of secondary education and 60% qualify for higher education.
AGE Africa's scholarship fund provides comprehensive scholarships for rural and vulnerable young women. Scholarships cover the cost of tuition, as well as the indirect costs of attending school, such as uniforms, transportation, school supplies, and groceries and personal hygiene items.
Each year, AGE Africa impacts hundreds of women more through its after school, life skills and leadership program, CHATS (Creating Healthy Approaches to Success). CHATS targets the multiple causes of girls' dropout and gives girls the knowledge and skills they need to stay healthy, safe and in school.
Let our students know that you believe in the potential of every girl and that we want them all to dream big!
