AGUA is a collaboration of the Saint Louis Rotaract and the Saint Louis University organization Billikens for Clean Water. We are a group of Saint Louis University students, both undergraduate and graduate, and faculty passionate about educating the world about the water crisis while walking in solidarity with those without access to clean water. Our mission is to strive to fight this injustice through funding water projects. We will be carrying out our upcoming project in Honduras, a country where 954,000 people do not have access to clean water.
Our Current Project:
In March 2016, a group of SLU volunteers composed of faculty and graduate and undergraduate students will be traveling to the region of Trojes, Honduras. We will spend one week working alongside the community members to carry out assessments of the needs of multiple communities and build relationships with community members. This is an essential first step of a project that will result in the building of latrines, hand washing stations, community training and education, and deworming clinics specific to the needs of each community. Following the assessment trip, we will return to Saint Louis to analyze the data collected and write a grant to address the needs that were identified. There will be future trips to carry out the implementation of the community improvements. To assist in this effort, we would appreciate your consideration in giving a donation to AGUA. Sending one volunteer to Honduras costs approximately $1,500 to for transportation, lodging, meals, and supplies. Donations will go towards the cost of the trip for the volunteer you are sponsoring. We thank you for taking the time to learn about our project and considering a donation to help our personal efforts to make a change to our world, one community at a time.
