A hand for the man who gave me everything
Organized by: Lanha Lowrey
I wasn't sure how to go about this because I didn't want to embarrass the person it's for.. it's supposed to be a surprise. But recently my father has been going through probably the hardest time in his life. Working day and night 7 days a week with 2 herniated discs in his back and all of that hard work goes towards a mortgage and bills and his unexpected 4th child who is now a growing bottomless pit of a toddler. Then shortly after this toddlers first birthday his marriage of 20 years had an abrupt end and separation. It's been 7, going on 8, months since this separation and my father is still coping and trying to come to terms with it. He's reconnected with religion and keeps himself busy with work, family, being a new dad again, and trying to make new friends. But when he was ready to see his old classmates at a reunion he began to have dental issues and gracefully declined the invitation because he didn't want to be seen this way. He took a trip to the dentist for an exam and the work he needs done costs about the same as a new car. If I could just pull that money out of thin air I'd give it to him in a heartbeat but obviously I cannot do that. This man has worked himself to the bone my whole life and made sure I never did without as well as my older brother and younger sister and he's doing the same for my new baby sister but now he is getting old and its becoming difficult and even painful for him to work this way and I just wish I could give to him like he has for me. I'm reaching out to anyone and everyone who can spare the time to read this. Even the smallest of donations adds up and if you can't donate all prayers are appreciated greatly. Please share and spread the word so this will reach as many people as possible. Thank you so much for your time.
