Found a useful thing. http://bit.ly/1NbiZ3M As always, my gratitude for the support. See More

THE STORY:

UPDATE 07/31/2015:

Therapy session was good. I'll be going more frequently until we see how the antidepressants are affecting me.  Follow up with my doc as well at the beginning of September.

Other things to do going forward:
- taking refresher medical billing courses if I can find any
- taking any courses to keep myself occupied and my mind engaged and focused
- letting go of burdens that aren't mine to bear (this one is hard because I want to help my loved ones but some things simply aren't my responsibility)
-  mindfulness meditation
- regular exercise

So there's a plan of sorts.  My deepest gratitude for all the support and care y'all have given me.  I'm sorry if I have not thanked each of you personally.  I've tried if at all possible.  ~hugs~

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am deeply grateful to my chose family and friends who came through for me last year when I had an unexpected hospital stay followed by surgery. All in the midst of trying to move! I was able to get immediate needs covered but now I find myself, a bit over a year later, burdened financially and emotionally with debt.

With the relocation, I became unemployed. I was able to find a contract project back in April/May that paid well enough for me to pay down some of the debt incurred last year. The copays and deductibles of the hospital stay and surgery were quite high. This year brings new deductibles to meet (to the tune of $500) before insurance kicks in. I was able to cover some of it earlier in the year but I've been either unemployed or underemployed most of the year. My long-term partner is able to cover our housing (we are in the SF Bay Area so this is quite high), bills and the like. Plus he took on some of my medical expenses from last year and is paying for the copays that I cannot. However, I still have outstanding student loans in excess of $50,000 which I was able to get deferred for a time. I do have about $10000 in other education related debt that I was paying on when I had income. Again, I am trying to find a job. However, I suffer from depression as well as lingering issues from my health issues of the past year. I am in treatment for the depression but it is a long, slow slog. I am trying so very hard. I have support from friends and my chosen family but they can only do so much.

So I thought I would send this out into the universe and see what happens. Where will the money go? I will pay off the remaining medical expenses of approximately $2000. Put some towards my education expenses. Get an oil change and my tires looked at so I can feel safe driving while job hunting. Get my cat his yearly vaccination booster. A helping hand will go a long ways towards improving my mental/emotional health.
