BENEFITING: American Heart Association
EVENT: Pittsburgh Marathon 2017
EVENT DATE: May 07, 2017
Last year was the first year I've ever run a marathon or anything at that and I fell in love! I ran the Half marathon in honor of my dad and heart disease. Well this past June even after now losing a 112 lbs I had a mini Heart attack myself. It was a very scary situation and I'm glad it wasn't worse. Once I got an email about the marathon I felt it was only right to run for the American Heart Association again this year. Please help me raise money for this organization and spread the word! Thanks!

Currently, heart disesases are the #1 killer of Americans and stroke doesn't fall far behind at #5. 1 in 3 women will die of heart disease. Stroke is the leading cause of disability in the United States. What people don't know, is that heart disease is 80% preventable. Physical activity and a healthy diet can help prevent you or your loved ones from suffering from either of these terrible diseases. Join the AHA/ASA marathon team and help us create a world free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. For every $1 that is raised in the Greater Pittsburgh Region, $3 is allocated back to research and advocacy right here in Southwestern Pennsylvania. There is currently over $13 million invested in research in Pittsburgh - help us get one step closer to ending heart disease and stroke. You can make a difference!
