In early March, following a series of headaches, a tumor was found in Gregory's brain. He was rushed into surgery to have it removed and has had two follow up surgeries in the meantime. He had a shunt put in to relieve pressure and help with fluid accumulation in the brain and he also had a port put in to prepare him for additional treatment. The biopsy confirmed that the tumor is malignant and he has been diagnosed with having Medulloblastoma Cancer. Gregory is a very sweet 6th grader who loves video games and is active in his church. His father passed away in 2010 and Susan (Mom) has been raising Gregory and his three siblings on her own since. This has all been really unexpected and hard on Gregory and the rest of the family. Susan hasn't slept on her own bed since before the tumor was discovered, spending most nights on hospital chairs. For the next stage of his treatment he will be spending the next 6-7 weeks in Seattle. He will receive radiation at the Proton Radiation Center and chemotherapy at Seattle Children's Hospital followed up with additional chemo when they return to Spokane. Susan is on the wait list for temporary room and board through the Ronald McDonald House Charities but at this point we aren't positive where she'll be staying for the duration of his stay. Susan and the family are all very grateful for the prayers and support they've received from all of us but they are also in need of financial support to assist with the cost of Gregory's treatment and a lack of income while she is out of work to be there for him. The money raised from this fund will be used to cover any of Gregory's unpaid medical expenses, boarding, and family travel expenses. Thank you everyone for your prayers and support. If you cannot afford to donate please share this with friends and family. If you would like to confirm that this is valid, contact the Knight of Columbus at the St. Joseph's parish in Colbert, WA
