BENEFITING: Water For People
Aiden is turning 10 this year, and for the third year in a row, in place of birthday presents, he has asked his friends and family to take that money and donate to Water For People. (www.waterforpeople.org)
This non-profit group helps fund efforts for poverty stricken people in third world countries to build and maintain their own safe drinking water systems. The following is from their website:
“Water For People brings together local entrepreneurs, civil society, governments, and communities to establish creative, collaborative solutions that allow people to build and maintain their own reliable safe water systems. Empowering everyone transforms people’s lives by improving health and economic productivity to end the cycle of poverty.”
He has again been invited to the World Headquarters in Denver to hand deliver his collections but also sit down with several of the executive management and discuss how to get other kids excited about this cause.
The day after his birthday, he met with his principal in an effort to start a fundraiser at school. The principal has done him one better and enlisted the help of the student council as well.
We can't help encourage his actions. Any help you can provide to help Aiden reach his $900 goal this year is most appreciated.
