I am excited that you are taking a few minutes to get to know us and what we are all about. Ainsley's Angels of Mississippi is an athletic ride-along programs created for children, teens, adults and veterans with disabilities who normally would not be able to experience endurance events such as triathlons or road races. Our motto is: "Roll with the Wind."
One of the official sponsors of this program is Team Hoyt VB, a father (Dick) / son (Rick who is a quadriplegic) team. After their first race in 1977 Rick told his father, "Dad, when I'm running, it feels like I'm not handicapped."
To sum it up, we are a volunteer-based service that provides jogger chairs, bike trailers and rafts for anyone who is disabled (Known as Captains) and runners (Known as Angels) to push them in endurance events. WHERE YOUR DONATION GOES: Everything we do is dependent on support from sponsors. Donations will help pay for jogging chairs, team trailers, maintenance of equipment, operating costs, bike carts, water rafts, and race entry fees for our Captains. It will also help to pay for the cost of t-shirts provided for our Captains, Angels and volunteers and race medals for our Captains. We aim to eventually support local special needs based schools, programs, and organizations, while also hoping to experience an out-of-area trip/race for our special athletes. Another way to help, is to spread the word of Ainsley's Angels' efforts. If you know of a possible candidate to become a "Captain" or if you would like to become an "Angel," please contact me. There are also three additional ways to help Ainsley's Angels of Mississippi: 1. Click here to purchase the children’s book, Born an Angel, written by Ainsley’s 12-year old sister and donate it to a local elementary school library! Proceeds go to the Ainsley's Angels Foundation 2. Follow us on Instagram and Twitter: @ainsleys_angels 3. Like us on Facebook: "Ainsleys Angels"
