At 0700 on April 26th, the Running Renegades, are going to take off on a run for 24 hours. We are going to tackle the Virginia 24 Hour Run/Walk for Cancer. The team is comprised of active duty military and prior service veterans. Several of the Renegades are returning for a second shot at this fun race while this is a first for others.
We decided that for such an epic adventure we would help two epic charities, Ainsley's Angels of America and the American Cancer Society. All donations made to our page will be split evenly between these two groups. Ainsley's Angels is an organization focusing on helping those with disabilities to compete and be included. American Cancer Society is one of the nation's largest cancer fighters. ACS helps to fund cancer research as well as assist people affected by cancer.
Here is a little about the Renegades:
I began running for Ainsley's Angels in 2012. In 2013, I tackled 17 half-marathons, 3 ten milers, a few 10k's and some 5k's for good measure. I set out this year to find a new goal and when approached about the Virginia 24 Hour Run/Walk for Cancer, I didn't even hesitate. I decided that it was a great way to raise awareness for two great causes.
While Ainsley's Angels has become a huge part of my life another motivating force is being a cancer survivor. I am grateful everyday for my health after surviving my battle with cancer. I jump on ny chance I get to help give back to groups helping to battle cancer. I am so excited to be part of such a fun team. While it may be a long 24 hours, it is all for a great cause. I can't wait to hit the trail and start passing the hours.

Any friends or family who happen to be free on April 26th, feel free to come out and support the Running Renegades. Any one who wants to run/walk a lap with us is even more welcome.
Check back periodically for updates from other team members as well.
Both of these charities are amazing causes and this event is going to be a blast for everyone.
