Al Willis Memorial Fund
Organized by: Christine Holub
On March 6, 2016, Alan Willis returned home after brunch with his wife and son. He suddenly had a massive heart attack and passed away after 44 minutes. It was a tragic, unexpected loss, and he left behind a family that will never be the same. Kim Willis lost her husband of 30 years and main supporter. Alan had recently begun a new "retirement job" after retiring from his previous company, Mohawk Carpet, of 45 years in 2015. He had planned to purchase a small life insurance policy to help cover the Memorial costs and to keep his wife from financial difficulty in the event of his death. Tragically, this could not be finalized before he passed away. We are hoping to raise money so that his widow, Kim, will be able to give him a memorial and stay financially sound during this unfortunate transitional time in her life. Knowing the Willis family has been one of my most treasured blessings. Al was a second father to me, and the plethora of friends who were always welcomed, loved and cared for by Kim and Al. His example as a husband, father, grandfather, hard worker and friend is one we have all been blessed by and has changed our lives. At 75, he had just had a physical that showed his blood work to be that of a 55-60yr old, he had survived prostate cancer and had so much life to live. Any donation is greatly appreciated.
