BENEFITING: ANIMAL RESCUE OF TRACY
Update 9/5/14: He is doing fine after having arthroscopic surgery on both front elbows yesterday (9/4) morning at UC Davis. Right elbow was the worst and badly deterioriated, the Doctor considered it a grade 3 on a scale of 1-4 and left was a grade 2. She was able to clean up the elbows and remove cartilage. He went for a walk this morning and is doing well.
Update 9/4/14: After making 2 payments to UC Davis with one more payment due tomorrow upon checkout we have had to revise our fundraising goal. The new goal has been calculated as follows:
Total payment to UC Davis: $4,447.00
Donations raised from other means (besides Crowdrise): $1,154.00
Revised Goal: $3,293.00
Update: 9/3/14: Al is at UC Davis, he will have his arthroscopic surgery on his elbows tomorrow. He will come home Friday. He will need to have limited exercise for two weeks afterwards. So, unfortunately he will be “bed ridden” and not be able to make the next two weekends☹ But, let’s hope for three weeks from now and see how he is doing.
Aladdin is an 8 month old German Shepherd mix under the care of Animal Rescue of Tracy. It has been clear he has been in pain but we didn't know from what. We had him checked out at our local vet and UC Davis. Both said he is suffering from dysplasia in both front elbows and will require surgery. The surgery costs will range from a minimum of $2,600 - $3,000, depending upon how extensive it is. UC Davis has agreed to perform the surgery.
