BENEFITING: American Lung Association of Michigan
ORGANIZER: American Lung Association of Michigan
I am running the 2016 Detroit Freepress Marathon in honor of my mom, Diane Primeau. We lost her last year due to acute respiratory distress syndrome.
She always had more confidence in me, than I did in myself. She was convinced that I would run a full marathon one day. Just a few months before she was hospitalized, she gave me a news article about running, because it included a statistic that the average age of marathon runners was over 40 years old. My "I'm too old" excuse was no longer valid.
After months of training and much support from my family and friends, I am ready to run for mom. I am running because she believed I could. Please consider donating to the American Lung Association in hopes that in the future, someone that was in my mom's condition can be treated to enjoy a longer quality life on this earth.
