From Naomi: Please help to support critically needed care for Alana as she battles Stage 4 gastro-esophageal cancer. Fighting this cancer is a full time job and requires not just chemo but complementary alternative medicine (acupuncture, etc.) to fight the symptoms and side effects of the treatment. Malkia and Alana (aka Mitts and Muffy) are always there to fight the good fight for the movement, the community, their loved ones. Now's our chance to do the same for them.Let's do it #TeamSeattle for #TeamAlana!!

I recently received the devastating news that I have stage 4 metastatic gastro-esophageal cancer, despite being a seemingly healthy 40-year-old woman with no medical or genetic risk factors. I can't have cancer, I'm MUFFY! But, I do.
My love, Mac (aka Mitts), has been my champion every step of the way. We've learned that winning the fight of my life will require more than a great insurance plan, oncologist, and medical team. It also requires alternative treatments, out-of-pocket specialist consultations, increased co-pays, special foods, and most importantly, time to manage all this.
Annually, this will cost us over $50K per year. As hard as it is to ask. Mitts and Muffy need your help.
Twenty years ago, Mac and I went to college together. Four years ago we met again and fell in love. One and a half years ago, we got married. We are undone at the thought of our uncertain future. But, Mac believes I can win, and so do I. So I am going to fight.
Will you chip in to help Mitts and Muffy go on and on and on?
