On Monday April 18th, we left our mark at a historical event. The 120th Boston Marathon was an amazing and humbling experience. Thank you for your support along the way!

Over the last 5 years I've run a ton of races, but this was my first as a charity runner. I met an incredible group of people and learned about many fantastic charities. Charity runners run hard because they care hard. They are driven by a mission beyond themselves.

On the race course I saw runners overcoming incredible physical challenges that made me realize life has no limits. Their hearts and grit carried them to the finish.

During the race, the hills and heat were terrible. At mile 21 my body ached and I wanted to walk instead of run, but my heart and spirit prevailed. Running a marathon takes you to the edge - pushes your limits, it breaks you and then brings you back.

It was not my first race, but I am forever changed by this experience. We did something special. Thank you for being part of the journey.

XOXO

How do I thank you?!?!? You have been a great friend that I am honored to have met last year. You welcomed a scared kid on my 1st group run which was also 9 miles longer than anything I have ever run. I couldn't imagine running 21 miles and I met you and you were going to run it, and you did like a BOSS, as a short stack of pancakes. Thank you so much for being a friend and a mentor. I love your zeal for life and hope that it really is contagious.
Thanks again

Hello,

I thought I would update all my donors to let you know that with your support we have raised $6,623 to date! What an incredible accomplishment and I have YOU to thank for that! The race is only 5 days away and I'd like to share with you a few highlights AND lowlights from training:

• Lowlight: One COLD February, I got dressed and opened the door on a Saturday morning for an 8 mile run and it was FREEZING and SNOWING. I said “No way” to myself and hit the treadmill. I never missed another Saturday long run with my training group outside again. The weather won that day but after that I got outside.
• Lowlight: Running Heartbreak Hill for the first time. I'm so lucky that I live in Boston and I got to run the course every Saturday with my CharityTeam of runners. I was on the course and I started to push through a hill pretty hard and I realized after that it wasn't even Heartbreak Hill. Marathon training is a slow learning process!
• Lowlight: On a 14 miler run, I walked most of the second half. I felt very defeated that day
• Highlight: Jumping in a pile of snow and getting a ton of donations from YOU
• Lowlight: Jumping in a pile of snow
• Highlight: Meeting the CharityTeam runners and learning more about their charities
• Highlight: Running 17 miles from Natick to Boston as a Ninja Turtle
• Highlight: Running 21 miles from Hopkinton to Newton in a blizzard
• Highlight: Being handed a red rock during the 21 miler to symbolize the Hill training our group does every Tuesday in Newton. I will carry this rock on race day to remind me of the incredible support of charity runners!
• Highlight: Connecting with old friends through YOUR support!

Thank you for your generous donation in support of the South Boston Neighborhood House! I’m so grateful for this experience and to have you be a part of it.

You can track me on race day (Monday, April 20th) by texting my Bib Number: 29888 to the phone number 234567. There is also a mobile app “BAA 2015” that you can download for free as well.

GO BOSTON!
