Alberts family Haiti mission
Organized by: Scott Alberts
Our family has a small independent homeless ministry in Stuart, Fl., and have an ongoing mission in Haiti. We are raising money in order to continue our work in Haiti.
We have begun constructing additional classrooms, as well as sanitation facilities on a small mission school in a remote village in western Haiti called Thomasette, and we plan to return in July to finish these projects.
We also work with other short term missionary and humanitarian teams. On previous trips we, and other teams working along side of us have constructed a community kitchen in one village, two classrooms, installed solar exterior lighting as well as a generator at one school and sanitary facilities in another. Last year the annual mobile medical clinic saw 140 patients in 2 1/2 days, and the Jamaican mission group that we work with planted 1000 coffee trees as well as capped and reservoired the spring that is the local water source there, eliminating risk of contamination, and keeping a steady supply of water for the village as well.
We would also like to start construction on a mission/bunk house in which we will be able to house these other groups and give them a base of operations of sorts. Individually, these are small steps, but collectively, they make a world of difference in a place where education, and even clean water is at a premium, and we are asking you to help us make that difference.
