Elizabeth’s mother passed away when she was six years old and left her only child an orphan. Soon after her mother’s death, Elizabeth went to live with her grandmother who was living in extreme poverty. Elizabeth would often beg for food and sometimes get beaten or thrown out by neighbors.
Elizabeth was granted a scholarship for primary school by a Kenyan who sponsored orphans. Here she was able to receive a quality education and eventually passed her exams with high marks.
Elizabeth has a survivor personality and is slowly learning that she can put her defenses down while at Daraja Academy. The new environment is an adjustment but she is learning how to adapt in a positive way.
Elizabeth aspires to be a pilot for the African Medical & Research Foundation (AMREF) so that she can aid those who need immediate medical care.
