A Leg Forever Charitable Foundation was established in 2014 by Elizabeth Norden, Mother of JP and Paul Norden, who each lost a leg in the Boston Marathon bombings of April 15, 2013. "A Leg Forever, Inc." is an all volunteer, Non-profit 501c3 public charity based out of Stoneham, Massachusetts 02180.
The Boston Marathon bombings changed the lives of many families that tragic day. Two hundred sixty-nine innocent bystanders were injured, 16 of whom lost limbs in the tragedy. JP and Paul Norden each lost their right legs during the second explosion; JP losing the lower half of his leg, Paul losing his leg above the knee. The brothers both came close to losing their lives that day.
The Norden family’s situation, although horrific, was also blessed with a tremendous amount of love, prayer and support of caring individuals from all over the world who reached out to lend a helping hand when their family needed it the most. Amputees from near and far came forward to show support and share their stories of healing and encouragement. Public donations and the One Fund enabled JP and Paul access to the best prosthetic limbs available and for that the Norden family is forever grateful.
A Leg Forever Charitable Foundation aims to share the knowledge the Norden family gained through this experience with the public and pay it forward. Funds raised by the foundation enable us to assist other families with donations towards prosthetic limbs and adaptive changes to their lifestyles that insurance often does not cover.
Did you know prosthetic limbs range from $25,000 to $140,000 plus?
Did you know a new limb is needed every 3 to 5 years for the remainder of life?
Did you know that health insurance only covers a portion of the prosthetic and the amputee has to worry about covering the rest of the bill?
Help us spread awareness of these and many other challenges amputees face. With your support we can make a difference in the lives of amputees!
