There are no words to describe how we feel today. Thanks to your wonderful donations, Axel has been able to receive a temporary drug to stabilize him, AND he's closer to receive the most expensive medicine that will keep his MS under control. Please share our link, we're getting closer to our goal. THANK YOU!
Alejandro Rojas , my friend ( and former band member of the Venezuelan Beatles cover band "Los Beat 3"where I was the keyboardist) was diagnosed with MS. After a recent MRI he was told he had Parkinson’s disease! He had a painful cerebrospinal fluid test performed on Dec 28th. Axel received the following letter:
Dear Mr. Rojas
Before going into the details, I would like to apologize for the misunderstanding with your MRI.
After analyzing your cerebrospinal fluid and your MRI, we have reached the conclusion that you have Relapsing-Remitting Multiple Sclerosis. This type of MS is characterized by episodes called relapses (during which your condition worsens) and remissions which are episodes where the damage during the relapse may or may not heal. You will still need IV Interferon beta a1 (Avonex), but you will need it as soon as you can get it to avoid relapses and damages to your neurological system.
If you have questions or comments or just want to talk, you have my direct number. You can call me any time you want.
xxxxxxxx MD (redacted to protect privacy)
The price of this medication ranges between $4,500 and $5,300.
His insurance covers a small percentage. Axel has to cover the rest. To make matters more difficult, he has lost a lot of wages because of his illness. Any amount would be appreciated and would help this wonderful, talented person. You can also help, by sharing this link with your friends and family
