BENEFITING: LIFECYCLE INC
EVENT DATE: Jul 17, 2016
I'm participating in my first Ride Round Rhody, a 75 mile bike ride through Rhode Island to raise money for LIFEcycle. LIFEcycle is a Rhode Island non-profit organization with a mission to promote healthy, active living and support local cancer treatment.
The funds raised are used for LIFEcycle's Grants program and help numerous area hospitals with clinical trial programs, oncology services, treatment services and family support services here in Rhode Island. Our goal is to raise $100,000 with this year's ride.
Since 2009, hundreds of cyclists and volunteers have come together to raise more than $350,000 to support cancer treatment at local hospitals and advance cancer treatment nationwide.
This year, cyclists in the 8th annual bike-a-thon will cycle 25 or 75 miles on a challenging mix of tree-lined roads, gently rolling terrain and climbs that will get the heart pumping.
Both routes will begin together, following opening ceremonies at 7:15 AM on July 17.
