BENEFITING: Association For Science In Autism Treatment Inc
EVENT DATE: Nov 03, 2013
Alex and Jamie Schneider are profoundly autistic. They are both non-verbal and are unable to cross a street without supervision. However, for the past eight years, they have become amazing runners. Alex is especially gifted. His PR for a marathon is 3 hours and 23 minutes, which he completed this past April in the Boston Marathon, luckily, before the bombs exploded. Jamie was slower so he was unable to finish the race, and missed the explosions. This will be Alex and Jamie's sixth Marathon, and first NYC Marathon!
We are raising funds for ASAT because they are committed to adopting higher standards of accountability for the care, education and treatment of individuals with autism. We believe this is essential in achieving the highest quality of living for all of the precious children and adults afflicted with autism.
