Alfred Dayton "Freddie" White was a remarkable young man who touched the lives of many people throughout his 18 years. He was born on February 16, 1996 in Lansing, and passed away peacefully on August 11, 2014 surrounded by his family. His life was cut short as a result of a vehicle accident. Alfred was beloved for his sense of fun. His friends and family enjoyed teasing Alfred and being teased by him. His smile and laughter were contagious. Freddie was a highly regarded discus thrower, shot putter and football player at Holt High School, Class of 2014, where he won the Student Athlete of the Month Award and the Ironman Award. In addition to his strength, Alfred had a softer side. He was kind and nurturing. Friends felt welcome and safe in his home. Freddie also loved nature and animals. He was planning on attending Ferris State University in the fall and majoring in criminal justice. Alfred will always be remembered for his energy and exuberance. He brought a bright ray of light into this world.
