BENEFITING: MILES OF HOPE BREAST CANCER FOUNDATION INC
EVENT DATE: Sep 25, 2016
The Miles of Hope Foundation raises money and awareness for those who are diagnosed with breast cancer. I chose this as my mitzvah project because my Grandma and Aunt Dana are both survivors and my Aunt Dana started this organization. She will be honored at this year’s walk, so this is extra special to our family.
My goal is to raise a total of $1800 for Miles of Hope to help breast cancer patients and their families. I am hoping to raise that amount because the number 18 is lucky in the Jewish religion and represents “chai” which means life. I have attended multiple Miles of Hope events and have heard about the many people who have been helped by the organization. MOH provides many services, but here are a few I have heard about at their annual luncheon: they help breast cancer patients make ends meet while going through treatment by providing gas cards or paying their bills, they provide college scholarships for kids who have lost parents to the disease and they offer massage for those undergoing treatment.
I am so happy my bat mitzvah is giving me the opportunity to share the work of Miles of Hope with all of you. I hope you will join me in supporting this great organization.
