BENEFITING: Alis Angels Foundation Inc
A'lice Brionne Catlett-Vise was born July 9, 2007 and earned her angel wings on September 16, 2014, at just 7 years, 9 months. "Angel Ali" spent her short time on earth showing us how to battle the adversity of Infantile Batten Disease with dignity and grace, all while loving unconditionally. Ali was a healthy child up until age 4 when she began having seizures & quickly regressing. After many doctor visits, traveling all over the world to find out what was happening to our Princess, we received the diagnosis of Infantile Batten Disease, a rare and fatal neurological disease for which there are currently no effective treatments or cures. Angel Ali loved to play and had an infectious smile and happy spirit, but she was unable to participate in community playgrounds as her physical abilities lessened and she resigned to her wheelchair. So when Ali gained her Angel wings, her mother said, "Often I would stand on the sidelines with Ali, as we would watch all the children play, and watch from a distance. It was really tough…and simply not fair. From our experience within our community I decided that our city has a great need for this park." Ali's Wonderland will honor Angel Ali and be inclusive to all people in our community. The goal of our project is to design and build a playground that will allow children and adults of all abilities to play and learn together. Our group feels that an accessible park should meet the needs of all forms of disabilities, including physical, visual, and other special needs (i.e. cognitive). Our playground will be inclusive to all, with endless learning opportunities for all abilities. Ali's Wonderland will be located in Hot Springs, Arkansas as a wonderful new playground for the city's residents and a destination park for families all over Arkansas and nearby states. It's unique design will improve the local neighborhood and attract families who want their children and loved ones to experience the magic of laughter and play with absolutely no barriers for anyone with any type of disability. Please help us raise the funds needed to build Ali's Wonderland which will include the universally barrier-free playground with Wheelchair Swing, Merry Go All, Free Notes Music Items, Roller Table, Sensory Slide, Splashpad, on-site family bathroom for comfort and convenience, and easily accessible ADA parking lot. Nothing will stop any child from playing in Ali’s Wonderland, and your gift today will help us make Ali's dream a reality!
