My name is Alessandra (Ali) DiTullio. I am 21 years old. I like music, swimming, spending time with my family & friends, and going to school. I was diagnosed with Kleefstra Syndrome (KS) when I was 8 years old. At that time, the geneticists knew of 9 other people with KS in the world. Talk about being special! Now there are about 300 of us. For me, KS causes severe mental retardation, extensive speech delays, low muscle tone, poor fine motor skills, vision impairment, and sleep disturbances. Some amazing advances are being made in the medical field and there is hope that there is a drug treatment for my intellectual disability. WOW! As you can imagine my family and I are super excited about this possibility. In order to do this, I am going to need a whole team of allies. Please consider donating to help fund research for this project and help me live the life I was meant to.
