Alison's Mission to Nepal
Organized by: Alison Brammer
I am an Art Therapy and Counseling Graduate Student at Ursuline College looking to raise money to fund a trip to Nepal in May of 2016. The Art Therapy and Counseling Department at Ursuline College will be taking this Service Learning Trip to help individuals who have been affected by the devastating earthquake that occurred in April 2015, to help children who have been affected by trauma, and to help provide services for organizations who provide basic needs and fight for the human rights of the citizens of Nepal. Being a third world country, Nepal is not able to receive crisis intervention and counseling services as readily as in the United States and I feel being able to help them in any way, even if it feels small, can make a big difference in the recovery process of these individuals. I feel as a future art therapist and counselor it is my duty to reach out to anyone who needs help and I am lucky that my college provides mission trips such as this. Unfortunately, the cost to get to these individuals that need our help is steep and as a graduate student finances are tight. I am hoping to gain the support from as many people as I can to achieve this very important goal. Ursuline College is a small school that does big things and I am lucky to be a part of this community. I hope you will help me on this amazing journey.
