We moved to Guatemala in January 2015 to start a full-time eye clinic to serve the impoverished villages near Lago Atitlan. Healthcare in the region is unavailable or too expensive for many residents. We believe improved eye health will help children perform better in school and open up additional economic opportunities for adults.
Please check out our website for more details on the eye clinic!
Our mission in Guatemala will be 100% supported by generous donors who believe in our cause. We are estimating that it will cost us approximately $600 USD per month to live in Guatemala including living expenses, food, transportation, clinic related expenses, travel costs, and continuing education for Alisha. Mission Guatemala graciously offered to help us out by providing housing for us and this cuts a large chunk out of our monthly budget. Our plan is to track our expenses each month and hopefully stay below this budgeted number so we can make any donations last as long as possible.
Our fundraising goal is $25,000 USD which will cover our living expenses for a 2-3 year period.
We are grateful for any financial support you can offer on a one-time or monthly basis.
Please contact us with any questions.
