All Breed Rescue, a 501c3, has been dedicated to saving highly-adoptable dogs from high kill shelters since 1996. By transporting these dogs North to Vermont or NYC dogs in foster homes in the NorthEast , we are able to place them in permanent loving homes, All Breed has saved more than 6,000 dogs to date.
The reality is that the cost of transporting dogs, the associated veterinary expenses (both predicable and exceptional), ongoing boarding, and necessary staffing far exceeds the money received from adoption fees. All Breed Rescue continues to depend on the support of the community, both local and global, for the critical financial support necessary to continue its mission.
Your support will have an immediate impact on alleviating animal suffering and combating dog overpopulation through education and alteration.
Life as a No-Kill Shelter
All Breed is wholeheartedly dedicated to its mission to save adoptable dogs. We will never euthanize a healthy dog due to age, disposition, or available space. In areas of concern, we consult with behavior experts and veterinarians in our local community. Similarly, we will never turn away an owner surrendered dog provided it meets our legally-required criteria. Impacted families in the past have travelled hundreds of miles to entrust their beloved pets with us.
The costs of animal care can vary widely from dog to dog, both from predictable ongoing care and exceptional cases. For example,
Treatment of a heartworm-positive dog – up to $1,000
Monthly food, boarding, and preventative medications - $225
Alteration (spay or neutering) - $200
Basic veterinary costs - $100
Transportation from the South - $125
Unlike most rescue organizations, All Breed operates a brick and mortal shelter in beautiful Williston, Vermont. Though a grant from Maddie’s Fund and donations from generous local businesses, the shelter has grown into a truly wonderful facility for the dogs. Our indoor kennel space has been renovated with new walls, epoxy-coated floors, additional large kennels, and a new bathing and grooming space. We’re overjoyed that our shelter can now host up to forty dogs at any time.
Our Foster Network
All Breed Rescue has a network of fosters across the mid-Atlantic states and New England that focus on saving dogs from NYC shelters. These volunteers provide loving homes for the dogs while searching for forever familes. All Breed Rescue provides vetting, training and support to our fosters.
