Help start a GREAT daycare in a growing neighborhood! *Our Story* My partner and I have had this dream for years, with enough funding we can finally make it a reality. We wanted to start a daycare that resembled the "way we grew up." A lot has changed over the years, much of it good, however, not all old things need replacing. In our research of daycares we found a lot of neglect, ignorance, indoctrination of practices we didn't agree with, and questionable teaching and care. We want to offer an alternative. Some might call us 'old fashioned' especially in Portland, a city known for its progressive appearances and politics. This means your child will have fun playing with old fashioned wooden blocks while hearing soft classical music (sometimes played live). Of course we'll dabble with modern computer technology and digital resources, but we think taking time to chase butterflies, finger paint, and sing is just as important. One thing that especially sets us apart is our willingness to accept sick or unwell children. Parents who have a sick child often have to miss work and stay home to take care of them. Most daycares will not take a sick child, even though he/she will most likely be sleeping. With our facility, we intend to have portioned off areas based upon like illnesses (children with sneezing/coughing together, children with stomachaches together, etc.) away from the healthy children. Our staff of trained and registered medical assistants will ensure minimal infection transmission, while monitoring vitals and symptoms of the unwell children in their care. Our mission for All My Friends Daycare is to provide affordable, quality daycare with knowledgeable, professional, and attentive staff who love children in a safe environment that is active, fun, and inspires learning. It is our wish to increase accessibility and provide daycare in a market that doesn't have enough facilities. We believe that parents should be able to pursue education, careers, and personal ambitions without fear of compromising the love and nurturing their children require.
