BENEFITING: BORGEN PROJECT
The I am an Advocate campaign is the latest fundraising event for The Borgen Project.
When I was 16 years old, I had the opportunity to travel to Johannesburg, South Africa as part of a Christian ministry group. I was exposed to the rampant poverty that existed outside of the city limits in the slum districts. Upon returning to the United States, I found that my experiences had given me a heart for the poor and I wanted to do something that would better the lives of people around the world. I received my bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a focus on International Relations and have since been pursuing a career in foreign policy. I became an intern with The Borgen Project because I believe whole-heartedly that the United States should be doing more to solve the issue of global poverty.
One person can make a difference- you can change the life of someone on the other side of the world. We have been given so much simply by being born in this country. Please join me as I work to improve the lives of those living in poverty.
We take the fight for the poor to Congress because we believe that the United States should be doing more to assist those living in poverty. Please join us in being the voice for those who have none.
