BENEFITING: ALLIED SERVICES FOUNDATION
ORGANIZER: ALLIED SERVICES FOUNDATION
I'm proud to be running the TCS NYC Marathon to help children and adults with disabilities in NE and Central Pennsylvania served by Allied Services. Any size donation will help. Donate $30 in my honor and you'll be eligible to receive a cool moisture-wicking WNEP's Ryan's Run exercise shirt.
My name is James Deom. I am a husband, a father, an eye doctor and a passionate outdoor enthusiast. I live in Drums Pa with my beautifully talented wife Jillian, daughter Brynn, Roman the cat, 14 chickens and probably around 200,000 honey bees. I was born and raised in Northeastern Pennsylvania and am proud to be back in the area serving to improve the welfare and public health of those that live here through the eye care I provide at both Hazleton and Stroudsburg Eye Specialists.
I have and continue to work closely with Physical, occupational, and speech therapists at Allied Services to link vision with the rehabilitation world. More than 50% of what our brain does is dedicated to vision in some way and when an individual suffers a stroke or brain injury their vision rehabilitation is just as important as their other forms of rehabilitation. Allied Services is one of the only local rehabs that takes this in to account.
Personally I have seen the benefit of Allied Services' work in the lives of my patients and in the life of my Colleague Dr. Thomas Kislan's son, Ryan. Born with Cerebral Palsy, allied services continue to offer him physical, occupational , and speech rehabilitation. He has and continues to progress so much at the hands of the skilled therapists and technology offered in their facilities. It is these and so many more reasons that I am proud to be a member of WNEP’s Ryan's Run 8!
