I'm proud to be running the TCS NYC Marathon to help children and adults with disabilities in NE and Central Pennsylvania served by Allied Services. Any size donation will help. Donate $30 in my honor and you'll be eligible to receive a cool moisture-wicking WNEP's Ryan's Run exercise shir.
Hello, my name is Kathy Whitney. My husband Judah and I have lived in NE PA for the past 20 years and raised four wonderful children here! Judah recently retired from 32 years of Army service, and I work at Regional Hospital as a Physician Assistant (PA) in the Emergency Department and recently began teaching at the Marywood University PA program. I am also a US Army veteran, and proud to continue to serve in the Pennsylvania National Guard. I first started running in the Army when I had no choice, and now I run because I love it! I joined a great group of runners called CINAO or “Can’t is Not An Option,” led by Frank and Anne Swaha, and have trained for and completed 4 Scranton Half Marathons with them. Working as a PA, I have cared for patients at Allied Rehab and seen firsthand the devastation of life changing illness or injury, then witnessed the amazing transformation that takes place when patients regain the ability to walk, speak, and function independently. The TCS NYC Marathon will be my first marathon ever! My inspiration for running the NYC Marathon is to raise money to contribute to the good work that Allied Services provides to both children and adults in our community. My goal is to raise $5000 to contribute and to be an example for others to continue to support Allied Services. Click on the Donate button and support our community. Thanks!
