BENEFITING: Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi
EVENT DATE: Sep 19, 2015
LAST YEAR WE HAD 42 DONATIONS AND RAISED $1,532.00! EVEN THAT $5 THAT YOU WOULD'VE SPENT ON SOMETHING LIKE STARBUCKS (LIKE MYSELF!!) WOULD HELP US GET THAT MUCH CLOSER TO OUR GOAL. SKIP ONE TREAT AND HELP PEOPLE IN MS DEALING WITH DIABETES EVERY DAY. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR HELPING ALLIE'S TEAM. HOPEFULLY WE'LL BE FIRST PLACE THIS YEAR. YOU DON'T HAVE TO WALK, BUT THEY ARE A LOT OF FUN IF YOU CAN MAKE IT. THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT!! We are so thankful to have this wonderful resource in our state. All the money raised stays in MS. They provided support when Allie was first diagnosed in January 2013 by sending her a stuffed doggie named Sugar that has type 1 diabetes too and a bookbag full of supplies. From our first time meeting them right after diagnosis in February 2013 at the Diabetes Super Conference to Camp Kandu, the Diabetes Foundation has provided help by educating and providing supplies when new families are in a bind financially and emotionally. We love the families that we've become friends with over the last almost 3 years at Camp, which is held twice a year. Just knowing someone else understands the struggles of a type 1 family is such a comfort. They provide endless updates on diabetes research and new technologies that may help in the management and hopefully one day a cure of Type 1 Diabetes. Please help us support this wonderful organization. The walks are really fun. Chris and I actually attended a walk in Columbus to honor his mother (type 2) before we had kids. Little did we know that we would become life-long supporters of the Diabetes Foundation of MS. Because of Allie's diagnosis, we have encountered so many new friends and had wonderful experiences all because of the Diabetes Foundation of MS. If you have any questions or want to learn more about diabetes, ask Allie! She would love to share all the knowledge we've gained over these last 3 years. Looking forward to seeing everyone at the walks!
