Ally Fuller's Young Life Europe Internship
Organized by: Ally Fuller
Young Life is an organization committed to introducing adolescents to Jesus Christ and helping them grown in their faith.
Young Life camping involves high adventure, lots of fun, great food and excellent speakers who understand and respect high school and middle school kids. Kids getting away from the pressures of everyday life, having fun with friends and their Young Life leaders, and hearing the message of God's love in terms they can understand. And Young Life camping is open to kids who often are overlooked: those from economically depressed communities, kids with disabilities and teenage mothers.
Kids consistently tell us that Young Life camp is the best week of their life. That’s a rousing (and unsolicited) endorsement! But how else would you describe a week where deep relationships are forged in the midst of mind-boggling fun and where you experience and listen to what we believe is the greatest love story ever told?
After I served last summer at my first YoungLife Summer Camp in Poland for Polish and German teens, I had no idea that I would have the opportunity to serve at, not one, but MANY YoungLife Summer Camps in Europe for several weeks the very next summer! YoungLife is a Christian organization that devotes their entire ministry to reaching kids. Their mission is to give kids hope for the future. YoungLife Europe Camps are special because they connect people from all over the world to show the love of Jesus to these kids. American teams serve as work crews, and, in countries that English is not the dominant language, they even teach English classes. Learning English is a huge incentive for these kids to come to camp. Last summer my main jobs were running sound for all of their events, teaching the teens to make paracord bracelets, and preparing the dining hall for all meals plus clean up. The goal is to be as helpful as possible so that the camps run smoothly and the student leaders can focus on sharing Jesus with their students. My trip last summer was only 10 days long, and I was only at the camp in Poland. This summer, I may be in Poland, the Czech Republic, and Bulgaria for up to 8 weeks as a YoungLife intern! I am incredibly excited for this opportunity, and I'm even more excited that I get to share it with all of you reading this! Any amount of support is appreciated and will be used to directly send servants to assist at YoungLife Summer Camps in these countries. Thank you for your prayers and your support! God bless!!
