Ally's Moody Mission
Organized by: Ally Peck
My name is Ally Peck. I am attending school at Moody Bible Institute. The cool thing about MBI is that it is so much more than just a school...it is a ministry. This place is preparing me for a job in Children's Ministry...preferably in a Children's Home. My heart is for kids that come from hard places, such as abuse, neglect, drugs, and alcohol. My personal motto is that the Kids who are the hardest to love are the ones who need it the most.
Here at MBI, I am involved in a couple of awesome ministry opportunities, including King's Table and Deaf Outreach of Chicago. King's Table is a program at a church in Roscoe Village that provides a Sunday school setting for kids with disabilities. Very few places provide something for this unique group of kids, but we have specially designed an environment that teaches the good news of Jesus Christ, as well as valuable life skills.
Deaf Outreach of Chicago is a group on campus with the goal of reaching out to the deaf community around us. We are training to share God's love with this normally closed-off and unreached group of people.
MBI is giving me opportunities I never imagined possible, and the focus here is to become equipped to go out and serve in ministries for the rest of our lives. In order to help us reach that goal, the school is tuition-paid by amazingly generous donors! However, the cost of living and books is more than I can handle alone. God is good and has gotten me here with the help of some incredibly loving people. I am hoping that more people will feel led to help me achieve my goals of serving God in Children's Homes, as well as help me while I am serving in the ministries here.
