Alpha Epsilon Phi Presents PhiStock
Organized by: Paige Levin
EVENT DATE Nov 18, 2015
PhiStock is Alpha Epsilon Phi at the University of Florida's fall philanthropy event. Help us raise money for our two incredible beneficiaries, the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric Aids Foundation and Sharsheret, a breast cancer support organization. These two organizations are very close to our hearts. The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation seeks to end pediatric HIV/AIDS through research, advocacy, and prevention and treatment programs. EGPAF was founded by fellow AEPhi sister Elizabeth Glaser after losing a child to pediatric AIDS. EGPAF is the global leader in the fight to end AIDS in children. Thanks to them, there has been a 95 percent decline in new pediatric HIV infections in the U.S., and a 58 percent decline in the number of new infections in children worldwide. We have the science and medicine to get that number almost to zero. Sharsheret Hebrew for “chain”, is a national not-for-profit organization supporting young women and their families, of all Jewish backgrounds, facing breast cancer. Our mission is to offer a community of support to women diagnosed with breast cancer or at increased genetic risk, by fostering culturally-relevant individualized connections with networks of peers, health professionals, and related resources. Throughout the year, sisters of AEPhi work tirelessly to fundraise and help put an end to these conditions, but we need your help.
